The PIGSs project introduced at the 4th German Pneumococcal and Streptococcal Symposium Berlin
Professor Peter Valentin-Weigand, head of the Institute for Microbiology of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, and WP2 leader in the PIGSs project presented results at the 4th German Pneumococcal and Streptococcal Symposium Berlin on S. suis projects which are related to the PIGSs project. His group also presented different in vitro models by poster presentations and an overview on capsular-dependent interactions of streptococci (S. suis, group B streptococcoi) with influenza A virus in co-infections of respiratory cells.
